TREKSTOR USA, Inc. Adds TREK ThumbDrive Touch to Current Line of Mobile Storage Devices

SAN RAMON, Ca., (Aug. 29, 2001) - TREKSTOR USA, Inc., a subsidiary of TREK 2000 International (SES: TREK) which offers state-of-the-art design solutions catering to the fast-changing electronic industry, announces the release of yet another world's first - the TREK ThumbDrive Touch™ - the newest addition to its line of revolutionary mobile storage devices.

TREKSTOR USA, Inc., was also first to introduce the world to thumb-sized USB flash drives, thereby defining a new category for this class of product.

ThumbDrive Touch uses biometric fingerprint recognition technology instead of a password to authenticate its user. When the unit is plugged in using the self-contained USB interface, the user can only access data once the silicon sensor verifies his/her fingerprint.

Measuring just 68 x 18 (avg.) x 10 millimeters and weighing a mere 28 grams, ThumbDrive Touch is ideal for mobile users and allows the storage and transfer of huge data files - including digital audio and video files, presentation files and accounting data or CAD files - between desktops and notebooks safely and securely.

The new technology is available in a wide array of storage sizes, from 32MB to 128MB and the USB plug & play makes connecting the ThumbDrive to a desktop or laptop a fuss-free operation. With its solid-state construction, ThumbDrive is able to withstand vibration and can operate under extremes of humidity, magnetic fields and extreme temperatures. Software, connection wires and batteries are not required - users can just plug it in and the drive will appear on the desktop screen, ready for work.

ThumbDrive Touch is compatible with Windows 2000, Windows ME and Windows 98/SE environments. The new technology is available to the public in early 2002 at an estimated cost of $169 to $499 and sold at selected retailers, e-tailers and stores.
